The Playmakers will be producing “Glorious!”-- a comedy by Peter Quilter.
It is based on the life of Florence Foster Jenkins, the real life New York heiress
and socialite who wanted to be a great operatic diva despite having one
of the worst singing voices in history. Nancy Flowers has been pre-cast as
the lead because the actor must be a good singer in order to play a
character who sings badly. The play is not a musical. Rather it is a
comedy with music. Only the lead character sings.
